She is not just an artist but a business woman as well, having created her own firm Samieston Ceramics back in 2002.

Change the world

Thoughts and ideas can change the world. So said Jone Kvie in an interview with Jesper N. Jørgensen in 2004.  And so it is.

His very productive artist resumé goes back all the way to 1998 and we are diggin' it. JK himself was born in 1971 in Stavanger, Norway and lives in Sweden at the moment. Have a moment of bliss enjoying some of his art with a statement to change the world.

Make a difference with craftivism

Ever heard of craftivism? It's neat and also the center in a new and very illustrated book from author Sarah Corbett. For many years Sarah was an activist ... who ended up being a burned out activist.

Changing her perspective she still wanted to make a difference but by using a different voice. The voice of craftivism (Originally Betsy Greer's term which means activism through craft). It became the heart and drive behind The little book of Craftivism.
It seems to me...
The little book of craftivism is a small how-to become a craftivist guide and also the story of Sarah making a difference herself and telling her story.

Sarah hosts an online community - Craftivist Collective - and updates the blog.

Constant euphoria

Henri-Robert-Marcel Duchamp (1887-1968) was a French artist and cultural critic. Along his lifetime he said some great things about being and living like a creative person.

We salute him with this blackboard with some of his words.

Female features

Christian Ward is a talented freelance illustrator (UK). He uses digital art software, e.g. Photoshop to create beautiful illustrative portraits of both men and women.

Water baby

We especially like his portraits of women with what appears to be only a few strokes. Within every illustration you sense the love and uniqueness of the woman pictured. Take a stroll in the CW universe.

Well-heeled bitches

Art isn't always what it appear to be and it sure does come from nothing. We love the way artist and sculptor from UK David Kemp (b. 1945) is inspired by discarded boots.
Well-heeled bitches on the beach I
He turns boots into both fun and adorable leather and rubber dogs for enjoyment in the collection Well-heeled bitches.

Some of them wear a heal as you can see! In these festival days who ever said boots can't be stylish.
